Survived the first three weeks of college, yet I feel like I have been fore three months. Day go faster than I expect, but overall it feels long. I do not know why, but this week was exciting and fruitful playing the Diplomatic Risk.
THe objective for our Red Team on Board A was "to acquire 12 or more territories with a resource or those are adjacent to the territory with a resource". At first, I did not expect that our objective will be almost impossible to meet. However, during the middle of the game, I started counting the number of territories that are meeting our objective, and we only had two terriroties that were meeting the objective. I realized that we need both Northern Europe and Middle East and all the countries around the two territories, which was literally impossible. The board had 5 countries with a resource, but in order to meet our objective, we needed to gain territories with a resource, but also those have lots of adjacent territories too. Since we had Middle East in the first place, we should have spread our territory from the Middle East, ending up attacking Northern Europe. However, we fortified Middle Easy to the Green Team, which I think it was not a very good idea. Since we were allies between the Green Team and the Yellow Team, our strength was that there are connections with other teams, which was a different situation for the Blue Team. We should have planned our strategy well; yet more than half of the reason of the result is me rolling "1" every single time when we had war attacks. I had no luck at all as the Head of State, and I feel so bad for my teammates (Thank you for letting me change to the treasurer ◡̈⃝).
I still cannot guess the objectives for the other teams (@Blue Team, what was your objective?). There are so many possibilities in this game, and every single strategy or idea was thrilling and it made me think of the current global society. Especially, when the Yellow Team was divided up between the Yellow Team and the new Brown Team, I was somehow disappointed and mad to myself that I could not predict this to be happening.
Our secret power was so useful! We used it in the best timing of all, and honestly I had so much fun playing this Diplomatic Risk. Hopefully we can play it someday, when it is before our graduation and we have much more knowledge about World Politics than now ◡̈⃝.
