Reflection #3

This game of risk was a lot of fun for me. I had never played risk before, so I had nothing to compare it to. Our team, the black team, had to take over Australia and the four territories on top of it. We started off having a couple territories around there and one strange loner in North America. Our team didn't want to necessarily be the force that attacks like green did later in the game and red being the hegemon. Our team knew that there was a tax on war, and warring in the first rounds would make you seem as the aggressor, so we avoided that. Our team built up the areas we had, even giving Indonesia eight armies at one point. We were basically creating a protective wave around our territories. Our team cooperated really well and we all agreed and talked through all of our team's decisions.  One of the ways we avoided war, was to swap territories, which worked really well for us. The red team, after making a play about their power, got split up, which really made them weaker, but great for us.

On the last day, we had to put all our plans into fruition. We had built up our armies, we were allies with many and we had money reserves. We first made sure we had our swapped territories and armies built, then we launched an attack on red. With our tech all the way up we also got the ten sided die, which probably helped us with my horrid rolling skills. While we may have lost a ton of armies to my skills, we managed to get Australia and the other territories we needed. At the end of our round, and at the end of the class....our team, black, and the green team....we won!
