Our debate about Machiavelli was very interesting, and it was interesting to see people's point of view and how they connected his works to modern times, and how the opposite happened where people pointed out his outdated views. I personally agree with both sides in different ways, such that he has a lot to teach us on how to rule/govern a country, and how a lot of the examples don't make sense in this day and age and don't apply anymore. One of the more interesting things said in the discussion, is that we should use parts of Machiavelli's book, since there is a lot of information that can be useful.
Other than the thoughts and discussions, I also really appreciated how well the discussion went. Everyone was so polite to each other and respectful. It made me very appreciative to be in this group, because we all listened and complemented each other's points. And people really did have deep and insightful points to put forth, a lot of them made me think, and if I had gotten the ball at certain times, I could have commented on it (though I do wish I could speak more clearly and have less anxiety when talking in front of a group). However, I did have fun and I would like to have more of those types of discussions.
